Silence Embrace’s Meta Queer Dolis

“The album is a means of exploring places I’ve been mentally and as an artist in a format that’s meant to feel like a movie, it starts with a rough night intro and drops you in at the peak of intensity, adding climax and ending with a summation of the journey “ explains Silence Embrace about the new album Meta Queen Dolis.

The title track of the album “Meta Queen Dolis”, a word play on Metal Gear Solid, provides a menacing and disorientating beginning to a journey where the listener is immersed in a grueling soundscape populated with the disparaging reminiscent sounds of obsolete electronic hardware.

“Someone’s Dead” has an underlying ratcheting hiss coaxing and cajoling the listener through a disorientating landscape filled with taunting disembodied voices and daunting whispers.  The track “Jagged Edges” takes the listener to disconcerting and entrancing frontiers with its strobing dark industrial sounds and jagged lyrics.  Rhythmic and intrusive “The Mask” has dark and introspective lyrics littering the musical landscape.  A dark trance track, “The House Awaits” has a hypnotic, undulating sound that is accentuated by melodic haunting lyrics in a gloomy nebulous soundscape.  The final track of the album, “Pandemic”, feels like a whirling crescendo to the album with fluctuating rhythm and an inkling of something hidden beneath its dark witch house sounds.

Overall this album is a delightfully ominous, dark and surprising journey into hidden and secret places. It’s a journey well worth taking.
